Did the issue of Abortion kill Kerry's candidacy?

This past presidential election may be one of the most historic in American history. It could possibly set the moral trend of this country for generations to come. The president for the next four years may be nominating up to three new Judges for the Supreme Court, and these Judges will enact laws that will affect your children and grandchildren.

I read somewhere that Al Gore should have been a shoo-in four years ago, but that he lost a ton of votes, and in fact the election, because of his view on abortion. This time around, Kerry lost Ohio and the election, and held the same view on abortion. What did his pro-abortion view cost him? Perhaps the White House. A poll in Ohio showed the vast majority of people were against partial-birth abortion, and in spite of the thousands of lost jobs in that state, plus the war in Iraq, the people who still hold family values came through as a majority. They could not bear the thought of voting in a man, who believes in a procedure that involves sticking a knife through a baby’s head moments before his or her birth, should be running this country.

Arnold Hamilton of the Dallas Morning News states: "More than one in five voters Tuesday identified moral values as their number one issue - and the vast majority of them backed Bush, helped Republicans expand their congressional power and insure landslide victories in eleven states on referendums banning same-sex marriage. All this, despite conceding that the war in Iraq isn't going well, nor is the economy as strong as they'd like. It reflects a new, national political reality. Hearing a sharper, more compelling GOP message, many values voters came to see Democrats as the enemies of traditional American values, Godless and weak on defense, analysts said. Bush offered moral clarity. He was much more likely to speak of right and wrong, good and evil. He was more visible in his religious conviction."

There is no warmth in Kerry or his buddy Edwards. You could feel it when they talked, you could see it in their demeanor. The two of them are as cold as their views on the legal killing of unborn children.

Perhaps more and more people are coming to believe life does begin at conception. Only hours after Bush was elected president, a Democratic party leader stated the importance of the Democratic party to change its views, and get rid of the stigma of abortion. To get in the flow of the trend that seems to be occurring in this country, and get out of "The Culture of Death" mode.

I seem to remember many years back, the Democratic party being made up of God-fearing people - whose main concern was the welfare of people. But something crept into that party since then - ultra liberalism - this "Me", "My", and "I" thing. "What’s in it for me", "My body", "My rights", "I am number one." If God is embraced by liberals, it seems to be on their own terms, the way they want Him to be, and not the way He states He is in the Bible. And a lot of Republicans and Independents are the same way.

This country is sinking lower and lower into the depths of liberal crap. Abortion, partial-birth abortion, same-sex marriage, and the removal of even the mention of God wherever possible. The outcome of this past election, hopefully, may be the beginning of a reversal of "The Culture of Death" phase. When you have a president that gives thanks to God, and is not afraid to talk about Faith and God, and does not kiss up to Hollywood and entertainers for votes, we might be on the right track.

Many years ago the term "God Bless America" was adopted by this country, and God certainly did. He blessed this country greatly from the 1700's to the 1960's. But today, a better slogan would be "God Help America". And with the results of this past election, I kind of believe He just did. Just how we handle this blessing will be known four years from now.

To all of you 50 some odd million, who voted against John Kerry, and his 20-year senate record of voting 79 times to support abortion, "God Bless You." And to all those 50 some odd million, who voted for John Kerry, and knew his stand on abortion, "shame on you."
